Robin singing, so nice. Had to remove a lot of annoying traffic noise so hopefully the recording is ok.

Recorded at an upstairs open window at 05:30 in april 2020 using a rode mic and a zoom h4n recorder. The usual birds are there plus the call of a pheasant, a resident of the field at the bottom of the garden. There's a low frequency ambient background. I think this was coming from a distant paper mill several miles away.

This is the song of a beautiful bird called a rufous-sided towhee. A bird usually found in deep woods, or in heavy brush. I was fortunate though to both see and hear this guy as he was perched in a tree at the edge of a heavy forest. Recorded around 6:30 in the morning on a gorgeous spring day on the last day of march 2012. Rode ntg-2 shotgun mic mounted on a sturdy tripod to reduce handling noise. Enjoy!.

Just a quick recording before class today. Recorded from a tascam dr-07 mk ii stereo in mp3 192 kbps 48,000 hz, pointed a bit to the sky toward a florida mockingbird about 2 meters away. If you listen closely enough, there's some crows in the bg too. Ambiance sound is the sound of a busy divided highway about 500 meters away. I processed this sound in sony sound forge a bit to remove some of it. Just beware, the sound file contains a slight camera double beep at 9 and 15 seconds, although for student film purposes i don't see any penalty for it. There's also some slight wind noise in the beginning since my clean foot sock didn't cover all of it, but same mind set as above, won't be too big a deal. Here's a video. Http://www. Youtube. An interesting recording of birds, led by blue jays, doing their alarm calls. I was in the middle of the woods when i noticed that the birds seemed to be alarmed like there was a predator nearby and sure enough, i finally spotted a big barred owl sitting high in a tree about 50 yards from my recorder. Pretty amazing how the bird community sounds the alarm.

The peaceful natural recording was made in early march of 2012 in woods bordering a lake. Even though it was late-winter/early spring and was cold -- about 38 degrees -- it was not totally still. These tufted titmice and song sparrows were actively singing as if to say "hey, winter's almost gone, get ready for spring. "recorded onto a zoom h4n recorder using a rode nt-g2 shotgun microphone mounted inside a parabolic dish.

Listening to nightingales & other sleepy birds in the evening. . . You can hear my baby rook taki squak at the very end, cause he was getting restless & wanted to go home to sleep for the night. You can hear nightingales, warblers and thrushes all around. This was recorded using my crappy, old mp3 player in the countryside of henfield, near brighton, england, on the 31st of may 2010. I often play it & other recordings i made around there for my birds in the evening, as a kind of nature lullaby. ^-^.
